Tourney’s pairings finalized
ROCKY MOUNT - For the first time since 1999, the Rocky Mount Invitational Baseball Tournament will have just six teams in its lineup. The 32nd edition of the event is set for Saturday, Monday and Tuesday, April 5, 7 and 8 at Gryphon Stadium.

Baseball event is targeted
GREENVILLE -- East Carolina University baseball fans will get their first chance to meet the 2008 Pirates up close and personal on Saturday, Feb. 16, as ECU hosts its eighth annual “Meet the Pirates” luncheon.
Scheduled to start at approximately 11 a.m. at the Murphy Center’s Harvey Banquet Hall, “Meet the Pirates” offers fans a chance to get autographs and photos of the ECU baseball team and third-year head coach Billy Godwin, as well as enjoy a catered lunch with the Pirate coaches and players.
