Book completed
Dr. James Dozia, a graduate of Christian Bible College, recently finished his second book, “Meeting of the Minds”, which is about once saved is not always saved. Dozia says the book is geared to help all enjoy Christian living and being in Christ, especially young people. “There is a very strong controversy over salvation. Many people believe they can receive the Lord and continue sinning. This book points out one should try to live holy, not without restraint live in sin,” he stated.

Where did the fall weather go?
Fall is a good time of year because it prepares you for the winter. It slowly gets colder and colder instead of having a drastic change. During the summer, you get used to warm weather and so the fall slowly builds you up for that frosty, cold weather.
Not this time though.

Letters to the Editor:

Thank you for delaying construction
I would like to thank the County Commissioners for their recent action on school financing. Delaying the construction of a new high school is proper during the recent recession. At a time when Government at all levels is trying to spend us into destruction, it is so refreshing when an entity does the fiscally responsible thing regardless of Establishment pressure. They displayed a grasp of our current economic situation that few in Government today have shown and this taxpayer appreciates it. Keep up the good work. More ...

Tail wagging the state
I have reached a conclusion that every town, city and county of North Carolina is affected by the managers the elected officials hire.  The cities have their League of Municipalities and the counties have their NCACC, which are organizations that receive salaries from us taxpayers.  The hired hands of these organizations that are supposed to help the public, use registered lobby rights, to our detriment. More ...

SHINING KNIGHTS
RED OAK -- Because of rainouts, Northern Nash endured a grueling stretch in Big East Conference action -- playing four boys soccer matches during a seven-day span.
As has been the case during NN’s up-and-down season, there were heroics sprinkled in with disappointment.
Northern won three of the matches, but the Knights dropped the most important one from a league perspective -- falling 1-0 at home Monday to the Wilson Fike Demons. More ...

ROCKY MOUNT -- Considering the fact that Rocky Mount has lost only twice all season, it was a stretch to think that Southern Nash would spoil RM’s boys soccer Senior Night Monday.
