Nash squads slated for Brittany
WILSON -- Five Nash County schools will help headline play at the The Brittany For the Boys VI Soccer Tournament.
The event will be held Aug. 27-28 at Gillette Park in Wilson. Tickets will be available at the gate.
Northern Nash will be the first county squad in action, as the Knights will play a Friday night match at 6 p.m. versus West Brunswick on Field Four. More ...

MARYVILLE, TENN. --  The USA South Athletic Conference released its 2010 Preseason Coaches Poll on Tuesday morning at the league’s annual Football Media Day hosted by Maryville College.

ZEBULON -- Jake Kahaulelio had three hits, while Luis Terrero and Chris Denove drove in two runs apiece to lead the Carolina Mudcats to an 8-5 win over the Jacksonville Suns in the finale of a five-game series on Sunday afternoon at Five County Stadium in a Class AA Southern League baseball showdown.

The Nash-Halifax Swim League capped off another strong season with its annual championships last Saturday morning at the Harrison Family YMCA Pool in Rocky Mount.
