Last week was a historic time. The death of Public Enemy Number 1, Osama bin Laden, will be one of those marking of time moments.

Judgment Day, May 21, 2011: another false prophecy!

Nash County Animal Friends’ Notebook
One thing shelter pets need so desperately is time.
If you know anything about animal shelter life, you know that time does not exist in large increments.  By law, stray pets have to be held for 72 hours so there is an opportunity for an owner to find their missing pet – but, they ONLY have to be held for 72 hours and can, at that time, be killed.  When an owner surrenders their pet to the shelter, that pet can be killed immediately.
