Luke's Word for the Week

"If Walmart doesn't have it, you don't need it!" Have you ever said this, or perhaps heard someone say it? I think in the south it's almost like a confession of faith; a complete trust that whatever it is you need, just head to Walmart and they are sure to have it.
Well fellow followers of the Way, I'd like to submit to you this day something along the same lines with this saying, "If God doesn't have it, you don't need it."

Word for the week

The Bible is one book with one major message written over a period of 1600 years. The unity of the Bible is one of its marvels. The patriarch Abraham is a prime example. God gave Abraham a tremendous promise. "In you all the families of the earth will be blessed" (Genesis 12:3). The Bible says, "Then he believed in the Lord; and He reckoned it to him as righteousness" (Genesis 15:6). We read this in the very fist book of the Old Testament of the Bible.

The ins and outs of doctor's orders

I made a rookie mistake Saturday night. At least for a person new to the concept of "following doctor's orders."
I was out of state at a wedding, comfortable and just taking it all in. It was sort of odd not having a responsibility after photographing several hundred weddings during the course of my career as a Nashville-based photographer for nearly two decades.

True journalism can be found in your local paper

I was sitting in church on Sunday when the topic of journalism was brought up. It wasn't brought up in a good light and I found myself wanting to hide under my seat.
But instead, I just sat there and listened because honestly, a lot of what was said was true.
Journalists are not what they used to be. The media, the news, is not what it is supposed to be.
