Nash County Animal Friends' Notebook

Some things to think about:
Fact: If you don't fix the outside cats that you are feeding, your pet food bill will increase. It is cheaper to fix them than to feed an increasing population. Just this week the Nash Shelter had 14 kittens come in, 11 from one person!

Being angry with God

Robbie and I were flipping through channels the other night and came across an old movie called "The Poseidon Adventure". It starred the late Gene Hackman.
The movie was about a luxury cruise liner, the S.S. Poseidon, which capsized from a tidal wave on New Year's Eve. When the dust settled, a handful of survivors - led by Hackman (a liberal, self-determined preacher) - decided to work their way to the hull of the ship, which is now above water.

Intersections: God and Life

In 1994 I was fortunate to have the opportunity to participate in a short term mission trip to the Ukraine. I shall not soon forget my experiences among those sweet people. This was my first international trip and while I traveled with an experienced team, there were things for which I could not be prepared.
One of those experiences was related to their hunger for God's word.

Maybe we are pledging allegiance to the wrong thing

Former NFL quarterback Colin Kaepernick, who was once famous for playing football, but will forever now be known as the "guy who started the kneeling during the national anthem" got another tryout with a team last week.
He hasn't played since 2017. You might also remember him as the guy who compared playing in the NFL to slavery. He was paid $43.79 million over his five-year career and then got another $10 million settlement from the league after that.

Last week a rant was posted on social media professing the disrespect of the media at a local event.
There were five or six media outlets, both print and television, covering the event.
Apparently there were representatives of one media outlet which chose to plant themselves in the best place to film the event which apparently meant standing between the speaker and audience.
