Rosetta B. Smith, age 79, of Rocky Mount passed away Friday, April 1, 2011. Born February 23, 1932 in Nash County she was a daughter of the late Benjamin and Irene Faulkner Britt.
She is survived by her eight daughters, Dorothy Wingo and her husband, Frank; Deborah Sullivan and her husband, Danny; Denise Brown and her husband, Pastor James Brown; Diana Ward and her husband, Gary; Delilah Adkins and her husband, Sam; Dawn Jones and her husband, David; Darolyn Peacock and her husband, Ronnie, and Andrea Burger and her husband, Jim; a son in law, Alfred Perry; eighteen grandchildren; and nine great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Luther D. Smith; a daughter, Darlene S. Perry; a great-granddaughter, Gracie Jean Lockyer, and a sister Jackie Barnes.
Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, April 4, 2011 in the Chapel of Wheeler & Woodlief Funeral Home. Pastor Ronnie Peacock, Pastor James Brown, and Pastor Brandon Ward officiated. Entombment followed at Rocky Mount Memorial Park Chapel of Memories Mausoleum.
The family received friends from 6 - 9 p.m. on Sunday evening, April 3, 2011, at Wheeler & Woodlief Funeral Home.
