NASHVILLE – Mary Lee Mills Hicks, 80, died Tuesday, April 12, 2011. She was born June 9, 1930 in Halifax County, daughter of the late Elvis (Snuffy) and Maggie Carter Mills. Mary was the widow of Roy Hicks, Jr. to whom she was married for 63 years. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by sons, Johnny, Mike and Gary Hicks.
Survivors include her daughter Bonnie Collins and husband Charles of Nashville; one granddaughter; three grandsons; sister Mable Jones of Whitakers; daughter in law, Sylvia Long and husband Ray of Rocky Mount; seven great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
Graveside service was 11:00 a.m. Friday, April 15, 2011 at Pineview Cemetery with the Rev. Allen Peacock officiating. The family received friends at Cornerstone Funeral Home, Nashville from 7 - 8:30 p.m. Thursday, April 14.
Arrangements are entrusted to Cornerstone Funeral Home and Cremations, Nashville.
