WHITAKERS - Deacon Samuel Wilkins, 65, of Whitakers, died on Tuesday, April 19, 2011.
A visitation for Deacon Wilkins was held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., on Sunday, April 24, 2011, in the Rocky Mount Chapel of H.D. Pope Funeral Home. Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m., on Monday, April 25, 2011 at Thorne’s Chapel Baptist Church in Rocky Mount. Rev. Richard Battle officiated. The interment took place immediately following the service in the Shiloh Baptist Church Cemetery on Highway 48 in Enfield.
