HELEN MARIE KING MATUS
Helen Marie King Matus, age 90, of Rocky Mount, died Wednesday, July 20, 2011 at Nash General Hospital.

A daughter of the Late Zack and Effie King, she was married to the late Thaddeus Francis Matus.

She is survived by two sons, Patrick Michael Matus and his wife, Samantha, of Manassas, VA and Mark Kevin Matus and his wife, Laura, of Peoria, IL; five sisters, Edna Earl Joyner of Greensboro, Ruby Lee Griffin of Whitakers, Myrtle Bass of Red Oak, Lois Jean Hudnell of Melbourne, FL, and Mavis Armstrong of Whitakers; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a sister, Viola Hall, and two brothers, Vernon King and Clifton King.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, July 23, 2011 in the Chapel of Wheeler Woodlief Funeral Home. The Rev. Steve Roberson  officiated. Burial will be held at a later date at the Culpeper National Cemetery in Virginia.

The family received friends following the service.
