Donald Fritz Womble, 74, of Elm City, passed away Monday, August 29, 2011 at the V.A. Hospital in Durham. He was preceded in death by his parents, George Verdice Womble and Minnie Alene ‘Polly” Harlow Womble; sisters, Mary Lou Fuller of Elm City; and Nannie Aileen (Froggie) Rogers of Wilson.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Virginia Lee (Gensy) Howell Womble; daughter, Lorrie of the home; three sons, Donnie Womble of Elm City, George Wade Womble and wife Brenda of Black Creek; and Dale Womble and wife , Stacey of Rocky Mount; brother, Phillip Womble and wife Donna of Macclesfield; five grandchildren.
A memorial memorial Service will be held at a later date.
