JAMES EDWARD HARDEE SR.
James Edward Hardee, Sr., 82, passed away  Monday, November 28, 2011. James was born in Edgecombe County on April 19, 1929. He was the son of the late Charles B. Hardee Sr. and Ethel H. Hardee. He was preceded in death by a brother, Charles B. Hardee Jr.

He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Shirley Robinson Hardee; sons, James Edward Hardee Jr. (Eddie) and wife Faye of Battleboro, and Jeffery Len Hardee and wife Jennifer of Greer, SC; one daughter, Joyce H. Long and husband Bryan of Nashville; four grandchildren;  sister, Ethel H. Hines of Rocky Mount; and a brother-in-law, Dr. Linwood Robinson and wife Betty of Lumberton; many nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held at  3 p.m. Wednesday afternoon, November 30, at Battleboro Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be sent to St. Paul United Methodist Church, 1217 Bethlehem Road, Rocky Mount NC 27803 or Battleboro Community Volunteer Fire Department, P.O. Box 607, Battleboro NC 27809.

Arrangements entrusted to Wheeler and Woodlief Funeral Home, Rocky Mount.
