Mavis C. Edwards, 81, passed away on April 6, 2012. Born in 1930 to William Alfred and Eula Greene Coppedge, she was preceded in death by her husband James Carl Edwards and their son, Ronnie Carl Edwards; brothers Duard, Wayne, Otha, and Clavis Coppedge; and sisters Thelma Moore and Pauline Strickland Whitley.
She is survived by her son, Rev. James A. Edwards and his wife Loyce of Bowling Green, VA; one grandson; one great-grandson; and sister Jean Matthews of White Oak.
A funeral service was held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 10, at Cornerstone Funeral Home, Nashville. A memorial service will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 11, at Mt. Pisgah United Methodist Church in Midlothian, VA. In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made to the Alzheimer’s Assocation, United Methodist Family Services, Mt. Pisgah UMC, or the church of your choice.
