SARAH R. WHICHARD
Sarah Richardson Whichard 82, of Rocky Mount, passed away May 4, 2007 at her home with her daughter Sandra Ashby Byers of Kitty Hawk, North Carolina by her side. Though this beloved mother had made her home on the Outer Banks for the 3 years, her heart remained in Rocky Mount, North Carolina where she lived most of her life.

Lung cancer took Sarah's physical life but she is being welcomed on the other side by her mother and father, Logan and Sanchez Richardson, Robert Whichard, her husband, her sister Mildred Hendricks, her brothers Dick Richardson, Buck Richardson, and Jim Richardson and a beloved step-daughter, Joy Ashby Powell.

Left to cherish the memory of Sarah R. Whichard is her daughter Sandra Byers and her son Greg Ashby both of Kitty Hawk, North Carolina, and her special stepson J.T. Ashby of Leesburg, North Carolina, grandchildren Dustin Patterson, Roxanne Ashby, Tyler Byers, and Brittany Byers, sisters Marcelle Langley, Faye Richardson, and June Hendricks, all of Rocky Mount and one brother Jerry Richardson of Richmond, and a host of family and special friends.

The family pets Beauty, Oreo, and Oliver are missing her loving presence as well. May everyone have a Sarah in their life. In lieu of flowers, please honor her memory with donations to Community Home Care and Hospice, 1601 N. Road Street Suite B, Elizabeth City, NC 27909. The family is planning a private family memorial service. Burial will be in Pine View Cemetery, Rocky Mount.

Gallop Funeral Services, Inc. is assisting the family. Please sign the on-line register at www.gallopfuneralservices.com.
