SARAH CARR EVANS STRICKLAND
Sarah Carr Evans Strickland, 89, passed away Monday, July 23, 2012.  She was born March 9, 1923 in Franklin County to the late Albert C Carr and Bettie Lee Breedlove Carr.  She preceded death of her parents, husband James Aaron Evans and husband Albert C. Strickland.  Also her son Tonnie Evans, two brothers; A.J. Carr and Eagene Carr, three sisters; Amanda Bishop, Mary Evans, and Bessie Evans.

Sarah is survived by sons James Evans and wife Libby of Tennessee, Dennis Evans and wife Janet, Dalton Evans and wife Branda, and Cudearl Evans and wife Marie, all of Nashville; one step son Pete Strickland and wife Ida Pearl; seven grandchildren; four step grandchildren; four brothers, Howard Carr and wife Kattie of Orlando, FL Benjamin (Red) Carr of Cartwright, OK, Ralph Carr of Gastonia, Phil Carr of Nashville, four sisters, Jane and husband Bobby Douty, Tempa P. Latt of Saraland, AL, Nancy Carr, and Marie and husband Herbert Moore of Nashville,  sixteen great grandchildren and twelve step great grandchildren.

A funeral Service will be held Wednesday, July 25, 2012 at 2 p.m. in the Chapel of Cornerstone Funeral Home with Rev. Mike Coggin officiating.  Burial will follow at Forest Hill Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Marvin United Methodist Church, 911 Falls Road Rocky Mount, NC 27804, in memory of Sarah Carr Evans Strickland.
