MARY LUCILLE HEDGEPETH CARTER
Mary Lucille Hedgepeth Carter, 88, passed away Friday August 17, 2012. Lucille was born in Nash County, May 7, 1924, to the late Arthur and Maggie Ayers Hedgepeth.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Joseph Reb Carter; brothers, Venoy, Paul, Clifton, Cecil and Raeford Hedgepeth.

She is survived by her children, Roger Carter (Sue) of Statesville; Don Carter (Delia) of Abingdon,VA; Linda Carter of Raleigh; Lois Hensley (Bill) of Raleigh; three sisters, Mae Ola Medlin of Rocky Mount, Betty Walters (Gary) of Stone Mountain, GA; Rebecca Scott (Ray) of Asheboro; and brother, Bobby Hedgepeth (Janice) of Glen Allen, VA; three grandchildren, five step-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

A funeral service was held Monday August 20, 2012 at  Cornerstone Funeral Home of Nashville. Burial  followed at Rocky Mount Memorial Park.

Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Wake County, 250 Hospice Circle, Raleigh, NC 27607 and St. Jude Children’s Hospital, 200 N. Saint Clair Street, Toledo, Ohio 43604.
