ZELMA HILL ROGERS
Zelma Hill Rogers passed away on Tuesday, December 4, 2012.

She was born on March 25, 1920 in Green County, to the late Matt and Dora Wade Hill. She was preceded in death by her son Richard Rogers, Jr; Sister; Dorothy Hill Barnes; and Brothers; Elmer, Earl and Durwood Hill.

She is survived by her husband of 72 years, Richard Rogers, Sr., her daughter, Bunny and husband Charles Pickel of the home, her sister, Evelyn Hill Colbert of Rocky Mount; 3 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Ruth Arrington(Wallace) of Florence, SC, Margaret Williams(Billie) of Nashville, and Lillian “Boots” Davis of Wilson,  and numerous nieces and nephews.

A funeral service was held Friday, December 7, in the Chapel of Johnson Funerals and Cremations, conducted by Dr. Michael Cloer and Rev. Greg O’Neil.  Burial followed in Rocky Mount Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers memorial may be made to Englewood Baptist Church, Rocky Mount.
