RED OAK –– Jasper Douglas Edwards, 72, passed away Thursday, December 20, 2012. He was born in Red Oak, NC on March 10, 1940 to the late Jasper Marriot “Doc” Edwards and Hattie Grace Griffin Edwards. In addition to his parents, Doug was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley Sutton Edwards.
He is survived by his son, Andrew Scott Edwards and his wife, Elizabeth Edwards of the home; one grandson; sister, Carol Williford and her husband Larry Williford of Cary.
A service to remember Doug was held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, December 23, 2012 at the funeral home with Rev. Larry Bostian officiating.
Arrangements entrusted to Wheeler and Woodlief Funeral Home, 1130 N. Winstead Avenue, Rocky Mount.
