RACHEL LEE ROGERS JOHNSON
Rachel Lee Rogers Johnson, 76, passed away Wednesday, December 19, 2012. She was born June 19, 1936 in Edgecombe County to the late Ronald and Thelma Surles Rogers.

Rachel was preceded in death by her husband, Alton Gray Johnson.

Survivors include her son, Jimmy Derrick Smith and wife Janet of Yorktown, VA; three daughters, Tammy Smith Parker and husband Michael of Battleboro, Laurie Johnson Newman and husband Jimmy of Louisburg, Ginger Johnson of Rocky Mount, one brother, Philip Van Rogers of Paris, France, special cousin, Jean Odom of Marathon Shores, FL., five grandchildren and one great-grandson.

Visitation was Friday, December 21, 2012 from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at Cornerstone Funeral Home. Funeral services were Saturday, December 22, 2012 at 1 p.m. in the Chapel of Cornerstone Funeral Home. Burial followed at Cedar Grove Cemetery of Elm City.
