Lowell Brantley Benton, age 88, passed away on Tuesday, December 25, 2012. He was born August 25, 1924, son of the late Rigdon Best Benton and Ina Moye Benton.
He is survived by his son, Michael Ray Bottoms of Rocky Mount, daughter, Gwendolyn Bottoms Messer and husband William M. Messer, Jr. of Nashville; two grandchildren; brother, Wayne Dixon Benton and wife Helen Spruill Benton of Louisburg and a nephew.
A memorial service was held Thursday, December 27, 2012 at Wheeler Woodlief Funeral Home with Rev. Willie M. Messer officiating.
Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to one’s favorite charity. A private burial will take place at a later date.
Arrangements entrusted to Wheeler and Woodlief Funeral Home, 1130 N. Winstead Avenue, Rocky Mount.
