DOROTHY “DOT” SHEARIN CARTEE
Dorothy “Dot” Shearin Cartee, age 80, passed away Wednesday, January 16, 2013.  Born in Nash County on October 23, 1932, she was the daughter of the late Walter Daniel Shearin and Ada Belle Brantley Shearin.  She was also preceded in death by her daughter, Teanna Chapman.

She is survived by her husband, William E. Cartee; daughters, Betina Blanford and husband, Kim and MerriAnne Brantley, both of Rocky Mount; four grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; sisters, Shirley Boyce and husband Richard Pell of Daytona Beach Shores FL, Georgia Scofield of Crystal River FL, Patsy Bean and husband Rick of Dover NH, and Peggy Whitney of Kentucky; brothers, Leon Shearin and Danny Shearin, both of Rocky Mount.

A service to remember Dot was held  Saturday January 19, 2013 at  Benvenue Baptist Church with Rev. Tom Gearheart officiating.  Burial followed at Rocky Mount Memorial Park.

Arrangements by Wheeler and Woodlief Funeral Home, Rocky Mount.
