Glendra Altman Sledge, 76, passed away Tuesday, January 15, 2013. She was born in Hemingway, SC on October 19, 1936 to the late Earle Bryant and Hulah Douglas Altman.
Survivors include her husband of 57 years, James M. Sledge; son, James M. Sledge, Jr. (Matt) and wife Vickie; daughters, Deborah Sledge Robbins and husband Joseph, Susie Sledge Webb and husband Shawn; 5 grandchildren; brother, Randall L. Altman (Butch) and wife Brenda; along with numerous nieces and nephews.
Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Oakdale Baptist Church, Honduras Mission Trip, 13037 US 64 Alt. West, Rocky Mount, NC 27801.
A funeral service was held Friday, January 18, 2013 at Wheeler and Woodlief Funeral Home. Dr. Harry Fowler and Rev. Joe Price officiated. Burial followed at Matthews’ Family Cemetery in Momeyer.
