Audrey Winstead Joyner, 90, passed away Thursday, February 20, 2014. She was born in Nash County on June 7, 1923 to the late Ruffin and Emily Joyner Winstead.  Audrey was also preceded in death by her husband, James Earl Joyner; brother, Cecil Winstead; sisters, Virginia Bass, Edith Pate, Ida Ruth Medlin, Olivia Flora, and Maxine Deans; and a grandson, Keith Barnes.
She is survived by two daughters, Emily Barnes and Janet Joyner; two brothers, Dixie Lee Winstead and Norris Winstead; sister, Jenell Rose; three grandchildren; three great-grandchildren.
A funeral service was held February 22, 2014  at Cornerstone Funeral Home. A committal service   followed at Evergreen Memorial Park in Wilson.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Mt. Hermon Baptist Church 5556 Bend of the River Rd. Rocky Mount, NC 27804.
