JOSEPH STANLEY LANE

Joseph Stanley Lane, Sr., 81, passed away, Monday, May 5, 2014. He was born October 21, 1932 in Edgecombe County to the late Robert David Lane, Sr. and Channie Biggs Lane. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy “Dot” Lane, a son, Kenneth Michael Lane, a grandson, Christopher Lee Lane, three sisters; Mary L. Denty, Frances L. Joyner & Louise L. Royer, two brothers; Robert David Lane, Jr. and Arthur Laurence Lane, three sister-in-laws; Becky, Mary R. and Faye Lane, two brother-in-laws; Ernest Denty and Herman Joyner, step-daughter, Beverly Ann Sprinkle.
He is survived by two sons; Joseph “Joe” Stanley Lane, Jr. and wife Dianna, Robert “Bob” Harrison Lane and wife Jan, one daughter, Donna Paige Gillam and husband Bradley, step-son, Michael Terry Sprinkle and wife Lisa, one brother, Richard Lane, two sisters, Nancy Manning and husband Don, Martha Parker and husband Jimmy, one brother-in-law, Joe Royer, 5 grandchildren; 2 step-grandchildren;  six great-grandchildren.
A memorial service was held Thursday, May 8, 2014 at Cornerstone Funeral Home of Nashville with Pastor Tony Bossolono officiating.   Flowers are welcome or donations may be made in memory of Joe to Old Wilson Road Church of God, P.O. Box 146, Rocky Mount, NC 27802
