Valerie N. Boddie, 50, of Wilson, passed away Tuesday, June 30, 2015. A funeral service will be held Thursday, July 9, 2015, at 1 p.m. from the Galatia AME Church. Burial will follow in Oakland Cemetery. Minister Annie Pearl Melvin will officiate. Wake services will be held at Richardson Funeral Home from 6-8 pm Wednesday, July 8.

She is survived by her daughters, Kashonna K. Boddie (Bobby) of the home, Cheyanna S. Smallwood (Johnathan) of Virginia Beach, Va., and Demteria O. Baines, of Elizabeth City; her mother, Margaret Ann Boddie of Moyock; sisters, Laura Ann McGee of Chesapeake, Va., Jeryl Boddie of Wendell and April Jones (Travis) of Wendell; brothers, Michael Boddie (Melinda) of Moyock, and Ronald Boddie of Chesapeake, Va.; and 4 grandchildren.
