Wanda Higson, age 64, of Elm City, passed away on Friday, July 24, 2015. Born in Robeson County on December 6, 1950, she is the daughter of Mavis Whitley Lanier and the late Earl Lanier. She was also preceded in death by her son, Chadwick Higson.

She is survived by her husband, Bill Higson of Elm City, her daughter, Ashley Higson of Wilson; her son, Brandon Higson of Elm City; four brothers, Eric Lanier (Melanie), Keith Lanier (Jennifer), Mitchell Lanier (Bonnie) and Phillip Lanier (Thom).

A funeral service will be held on Monday, July 27, 2015 at 2pm at Wheeler and Woodlief Funeral Home & Cremation Services with Reverend Eric Lanier officiating. Visitation with the family will begin at 1PM. Burial will follow at Rocky Mount Memorial Park.

Flowers are welcome or memorials may be made in Wanda's name to the American Cancer Society, 8300 Health Park, Suite 10, Raleigh, NC 27615.
