Dorothene Griffin Rackley, 95, passed away Monday, September 21, 2015. She was born in Nash County September 30, 1919 to the late Charlie and Maggie Thomas Hyde. Dorothene was the widow of Tommy George Griffin and Louis Rackley.

She is survived by son, Tommy Griffin and wife Harriet; daughter, Dorothy Jones Puckett and husband Kermitte; four grandchildren; four great grandchildren; brother, Hubert Hyde and wife Lucille; sisters, Helen Davis, Weedie Hayes, Faye Farmer and husband Pete; sister in law, Anne Hyde and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 22, 2015 at Cornerstone Funeral Home.

A graveside service will be held 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 23, 2015 at Red Oak Cemetery with Rev. Tommy Harper officiating.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations in her name may be made to the American Diabetes Association @ 2418 Blue Ridge Rd, Raleigh, NC 27607.
