Janette Boice Dresser, age 59, of Rocky Mount, passed away on Monday, June 20, 2016. Born in Lynchburg, VA on February 22, 1957, she was the daughter of the late Walter Charles Dresser and Charlotte Matthews Boice Dresser. She was also preceded in death by her loving husband of many years, Samuel Everett Pride, Jr.; her infant daughter, Amanda Stephanie Dresser; and her brother, David Charles Dresser.

She is survived by her sons, Samuel Everett Pride III of Washington, DC; and Traevonne Charles Pride of Rocky Mount; her step-daughters, Tara Pride and Jahlycia Pride; two grandchildren; sisters, Mary Moses Dresser Taffet and husband, Steve, of Syracuse, NY; and Susan Yancey Dresser Barritt and husband, Tom, of Cary; three goddaughters.

A memorial service will be held on Thursday, June 23, 2016 at 7 p.m. at Church on the Rise (Nashville Campus), 313 W. Washington Street, Nashville with Pastor Richard Gurganus and Pastor Jason Crockrell officiating. The family will receive friends and relatives from 5 to 6:45 p.m. prior to the service.
