Gary Alan Young, 68, passed away Saturday, July 23, 2016. He was born in Duplin County, August 20, 1947 to the late Robert Lee Young and Jennie Hollingsworth Young.

In addition to his parents, Gary was preceded in death by a brother Billy Young and a sister Kitty Woodcock.

He is survived by his wife of 28 years, Iris Young; son Scott Young (Stephanie); daughter Lisa Taylor (Jeremy); two grandchildren; brothers Ronald Young (Kaye) of Nashville, Glenn Young (Geraldine) of Rocky Mount and sister Earlene Jackson of Rocky Mount.

A service will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, July 27, 2016 at Cornerstone Funeral Home with Pastor Tony Bossolono and Pastor Daniel Moss officiating. Burial will follow at Rocky Mount Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends 6:00-8:00 p.m. Tuesday, July 26, 2016 at Cornerstone Funeral Home.

Flowers are accepted or memorial donations may be made to a charity of one's choice in Gary's memory.
