Nannie R. McCarter, age 87, passed away on Wednesday, September 7, 2016. She was born in Nash County on April 28, 1929, she was the daughter of the late Ed and Emma Rhodes. She was also preceded in death by her husband J.J. "Red" McCarter.
She is survived by her daughter, Trudy Brunson (Bill), son Dale McCarter (Rose); four grandchildren; several great-grandchildren.
Services were held Sunday, September 11, 2016 in the Chapel of Johnson Funeral Home with the Rev. Mary Todd officiating. Burial followed at Rocky Mount Memorial Park.
