HAZEL JOYNER SMITH
ELM CITY – Hazel Joyner Smith, 83, passed away Tuesday, February 26, 2008. She was born July 30, 1924 in Nash County. She was the daughter of the late William and Ida Joyner. She is preceded in death by her husband Robert Lee Smith and her son Donald Ray Smith.

She leaves to cherish her memory, two daughters, Faye Baker of Elm City and Brenda Allen of Sharpsburg; two sons, Kenzie Dale Smith of Rocky Mount and Randy Lee Smith of Wilson; seven grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.

A funeral service was held at 11:00 am Friday, February 29, 2008 at the Johnson Funerals and Cremations-Sunset Chapel with Pastor T.E. Long, Pastor Fred Jones, and Pastor Sydney Webb officiating. Burial was at Thompson Chapel Cemetery in Wilson.
