VELMA ELIZABETH POPE

Velma Elizabeth Pope, 82, passed away Saturday, April 15, 2017. She was born in Edgecombe County, October 1, 1934 to the late William C. Etheridge, Sr. and Betty Adkins Etheridge. In addition to her parents, Velma was preceded in death by her husband Allan T. Pope, Sr. ; sisters Lois Wells, Evelyn Alston, Nancy Stallings, Betty Jean Fountain; brothers J.D. Etheridge and Wayne Etheridge.

She is survived by son Allan Taylor Pope, Jr. (Apryl); daughters Lucille Sharpe, Elizabeth Trevathan (Michael); six grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; brother Bud Etheridge, and many nieces and nephews.
A graveside service was held Wednesday, April 19, 2017 . at Battleboro Cemetery with Marvin Stallings officiating.
