TOMMIE RAYMOND DICKERSON
OXFORD – Tommie Raymond Dickerson, 89, died Tuesday, March 11, 2008 in Granville Medical Center. He was a native of Vance County, the son of the late James Mack and Mary Emily Tippett Dickerson. He was preceded in death by his wife Lucy Mae Dickerson.

Funeral services were held Thursday, March 13, 2008 at 2 p.m. in the Gentry-Newell & Vaughan Chapel by the Rev. J. Lemar Wheeler and Rev. Tony Futrell. Burial was in Elmwood Cemetery.

Surviving are two daughters, Gwen D. Hedgepeth of Nashville and Jane Wood and husband Joe of Martinsville, Va.; two brothers Titus Dickerson of Wake Forest and Howard Dickerson of Oxford; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one brother Lee Dickerson and two sisters Hazel and Mable Dickerson. He was also preceded in death by a son-in-law Frank Hedgepeth.

The family received friends one hour prior to the services. Flowers were accepted or memorials may be made to the American Heart Association, c/o Rev. Harrison Simons, 512 Harris St., Oxford, NC 27565.
