Ronald Edwin Batts, age 67, of Rocky Mount, passed away on Monday, June 26, 2017. Born in Wilson County on March 6, 1950, he was the son of the late Leon Edwin Batts and Ophelia Evelyn Glover Batts. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Debra Batts Roderick and brother-in-law, Gerald Roderick.

He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Betty Daughtridge Batts; sister, Judy B. Manning and her husband, Ray, of Rocky Mount; sisters-in-law, Patricia Poole and her husband, Marvin, of Myrtle Beach, SC and Jessie McGowan of Rocky Mount; brother-in-law, Tommy Lee Daughtridge and his wife, Judy, of Bath; and several nieces and nephews.

Services will be held on Thursday, June 29, 2017 at 7 p.m. in the Chapel of Wheeler & Woodlief Funeral Home & Cremation Services. Visitation with the family will be from 6 - 6:45 p.m. prior to the service in the Atrium of Wheeler & Woodlief Funeral Home.
