Joan Griffin Wood, 68, passed away Friday, December 1, 2017. She was born in Nash County on August 4, 1949 to the late John and Nellie Shearin Griffin. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her brothers Gilbert and Astor Griffin.

She is survived by her husband Johnnie Wood; son David Pridgen Jr. (Raven Winstead); daughter Kelly Pridgen; step daughters Dawn Ezzell, Michelle Williams and Melissa Roberson; four grandchildren; brother Kim Griffin; sisters Janice and Judy Winstead and Becky Joyner.

A visitation will be held at 6 p.m. on Monday, December 4, 2017 at Cornerstone Funeral Home with the memorial service following at 7 pm.
