Lynn Maureen Holland Hicks

LYNN MAUREEN HOLLAND HICKS

NASHVILLE - Lynn Maureen Holland Hicks, surrounded by her loving family, left this earthly home for her eternal home on Sunday, December 3, 2017. She was born in Nash County on October 30, 1932 to the late A.T. "Bud" Holland and Pattie Lee Holland. Preceding her in death were her husband, Chester Hicks; her sisters, Eva Holland Brown, Eloise Holland Collier, Doretha Holland Richardson, and Dorothy Holland Hardy. Also preceding her in death were her brothers, A.T. "Buck" Holland, Jr., Wilbur Holland, Millard Avery Holland, and William "Bill" Holland. She is survived by her brother, Eugene "Gene" Freeman Holland and his wife, Eloise, of Nashville, as well as many beloved nieces and nephews.

Lynn worked for several years at Nash Garment Company in Nashville as a bookkeeper and seamstress. She not only enjoyed sewing for herself, but for others in the family and community. Lynn always remembered the birthdays of relatives and friends, making certain they received a card on their special day. Known for her good cooking, she enjoyed preparing meals for shut ins and loved ones. Having a selfless and humble servant's heart, she faithfully cared for many relatives during their senior years.

Besides being a devoted wife, sister, and aunt, Lynn served the Lord faithfully as a teacher, choir member, Women's Ministry leader, nursery worker, and in many other capacities at Ebenezer Pentecostal Holiness Church in Nashville for over sixty five years.

A funeral service was held on Thursday, December 7, 2017 at 2:00 PM in the Chapel of Wheeler & Woodlief Funeral Home & Cremation Services with Rev. Charles Gentry officiating. Burial followed at Forest Hills cemetery in Nashville.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Mrs. Hicks' memory to a charity of your choice.
