Gloria A. Smith, 70, of Nashville, passed away on December 5, 2017. She was born in Nash County, to the late Alfred Wheless and Madge Cooke Abernethy on October 10, 1947.

Survivors include one daughter; Amy Lynn McGilvary of Wilmington; one son, Christopher Scott McGilvary of San Diego, California; and father of her children, William R. McGilvary; brother, Wallace Abernethy, and his wife, Jean, of Nashville; sister, Phyllis A. Hardee, and her husband, Ted, of Nashville.

A memorial service was held on Saturday, December 9, 2017 at Nashville United Methodist Church with Pastor Luke Whitehead officiating.
