Margie "Daphine" Griffin Jones, 75, passed away Thursday, January 25, 2018. She was born June 13, 1942 in Nash County to the late Harold and Elizabeth House Griffin. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Melvin Jones, Sr.; son, Melvin Jones, Jr.; brothers, Larrell, Donald and Charles "Pee Wee" Griffin; sister, Kathy Denton.

She is survived by three daughters, Vanessa Chason (Jim Hobson), Melissa Jones, Peggy Lumley (Roy); one brother, Edward Griffin (Daisy); three sisters, Brenda Brown, Joanne Raper and Betty Outlaw; three grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

Visitation with family and friends will be Sunday, January 28, 2018 from 6 - 8 p.m. at Cornerstone Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held Monday, January 29, 2018 at 11 a.m. with Rev. Gina House officiating in the Chapel of Cornerstone Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Rocky Mount Memorial Park.
