Iva Lee Hedgepeth Smith, 98, passed away Monday, February 12, 2018. She was born August 3, 1919 to the late George and Amanda Strickland Hedgepeth. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Erkin Smith, and a daughter Aileen Smith Strum.

She is survived by her son John Ruben Smith and wife Phyllis; a daughter Kay Walker and husband Ray; one sister Faye H. Suggs; four grandchildren ; four great grandchildren.

A visitation with family and friends will be Saturday, February 17, 2018 from 1 to 2 pm. at Elm Grove Baptist Church with funeral service to follow at 2 pm. in the chapel with Rev. Richard Price officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Hill Cemetery.
