JAMES H. KENNEDY
Veteran staff member of The Nashville Graphic, James H. Kennedy, 84, passed away, Friday, April 25, 2008.

He was born April 9, 1924 in Edgecombe County. He was the son of the late Andrew Jackson, Sr. and Margaret Long Kennedy.

James was a member of Corinth Baptist Church. He loved his family and church. He enjoyed gardening and collecting toys. He was preceded in death by his wife, Carlene Spry Kennedy, a brother, Theodore Kennedy, son Larry Andrew Kennedy and sister Margie Kennedy.

He leaves to cherish his memory, one son, David Tanner of Newerk, Ohio, two daughters, Linda Brown and husband Wayne and Janet Joyner, all of Rocky Mount; two brothers, Jack Kennedy and wife Donnievan of Rocky Mount, Bobby Kennedy and wife Sheila of Nevada; three sisters, Loleta Davis and husband Jasper, Grace Barnes, all of Nashville, Jean Kennedy of TN., eight grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren and special friend Lettie Nelms.

Visitation was held Sunday, April 27, 2008 from 7:00-8:30 p.m. at Cornerstone Funeral Home.

A memorial service was held Monday, April 28, 2008 at 3:00 p.m. at Corinth Baptist Church with the Rev. Mike Coggins officiating.

Arrangements are entrusted to Cornerstone Funeral Home and Cremations, 1052 South First Street, Nashville, NC 27856.
