Britt Gifford passed away Wednesday, March 14, 2018. The son of the late Jonathan and Addie Davis Gifford, he was born October 8, 1927 in Wilson County. He was preceded in death by his wife, Grace Bailey Gifford and his sister, Lois Gifford Brown of Bailey.

He is survived by his wife Barbara Edwards Gifford of the home; children Avery Gifford and Wife Lydia of Rocky Mount, Jeanell Jones and husband Bob of Enfield, Emily Lou Brown of Rocky Mount, Beverly O'Berry and husband Speedy of Nashville, and Larry Flowers and wife Belinda of Battleboro; four grandchildren ; one great-grandhchild; sister Ruth Morgan and husband James of Farmville; two nephews.

A funeral service and interment was held Sunday, March 18, at Rocky Mount Memorial Park following.
