Jack was the son of Stanley and Ida Mohorn Neal. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brothers, George Neal, Stanley Neal and Charles Neal; and sister-in-law, Janet Sload.

He is survived by his wife of 31 years, Joyce Neal; daughters, Tammie Diane Perry (Mike) and Jackie Neal Webb (Phillip); sons, Brian Travis Edwards and William Randolph Edwards (Kristen); grandchildren, John Marvin Hinton III (Katelyn), Savannah Neal, Casey Webb, Mercedes Perry, Layla Webb, Olivia Edwards, Elia Edwards, Reis Edwards; great-grandchild, Natalie Hinton; brother Perry Neal; sisters, Barbara Fox, Ida Knecht (Tom) and Carolyn Rose (Roy); sisters-in-law, Judy Batchelor and Jo Anne Cooper (Mike); several nieces and nephews and a host of very special friends.

Jack was a US Army Veteran and served in the Army Reserve. After a 22-year career at Abbott Labs, he started his own home repair business which he operated for many years serving residents of Nash County. He also had a passion for restoring old cars. Jack loved life and he loved his family. He was a genuine friend to many people and never met a stranger.

The family would like to thank Nash Hospice, family and friends, for the kindness and love shown during Jack's illness.

Visitation will be held Thursday, April 26, 2018 from 1:30 - 3:00 p.m. at Parkwood Baptist Church, 1731 Hunter Hill Road, Rocky Mount. A Celebration of Life Service will follow at the church at 3 p.m. Burial will follow the service at Rocky Mount Memorial Park.
