Harold Brown, of Rocky Mount, passed away on Sunday, July 15, 2018. Harold was preceded in death in 2005 by Eunice Hayes Brown, his wife of 56 years; parents Willie Benjamin and Anna Frances Brown; brother Earl and sister-in-law Shirley Brown; sister Etta and brother-in-law Algie Jones; sister Geraldine and brother-in-law Earl Nelms, and nephews and nieces.
He is survived by his 7 children, 15 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild.
The children include: Brenda Brown Boykin and Matt Brown and wife Andee of Rocky Mount; Beverly Brown Lafone and husband Ken of LaGrange; Steve Brown and wife Edna of Creedmoor; Tim Brown and wife Christina of Greensboro; Mark Brown of Raleigh; and Andy Brown and wife Joyce of Asheville.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, July 19, 2018 at 2 p.m. in the Chapel of Wheeler & Woodlief Funeral Home & Cremation Services with Rev. Josiah Antill officiating. Burial will follow the service at Forest Hill Cemetery in Nashville.
In lieu of flowers, Harold wishes that financial contributions be made to the NRMBC Scholarship Fund at Campbell Divinity School (P.O. Drawer 4050, Buies Creek, NC 27506) or Nash Health Care Hospice (2460 Curtis Ellis Dr., Rocky Mount, 27804).
