Robert Jackson Barefoot

ROCKY MOUNT - Robert Jackson Barefoot, age 69, passed away on Friday, August 31, 2018. Born in Nash County on February 2, 1949, he was the son of the late Paul Barefoot and Ruth Odell Chapel Barefoot. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Elizabeth "Lib" Barefoot; and brothers, Paul Barefoot, Jr. and Ed Barefoot.

He is survived by his sons, Robert R. Barefoot and wife, Wendy, of Elm City and Wayne Barefoot and fiancé, Sherry Cockman, of Danville, VA; and daughters, Ann Wood and husband, Chris, of Pinetops, Diane Bryant and husband, Gary, of Wilson, and Beverly Moore and husband, Michael of Rocky Mount; eight grandchildren; sisters, Annie Hinnant of Kenly, Jackie Bissette and husband Ken, of Pinetops, Alice Adams and husband, Joe, of Pinetops, Angie Macaskill and husband, Angus Mark, of Zebulon; and many nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, September 4, 2018 at 2 p.m. in the Chapel of Wheeler & Woodlief Funeral Home & Cremation Services with Rev. Joanne Gallinoto officiating. Burial will follow the service at Pineview Cemetery. The family will receive friends and relatives on Monday, September 3, 2018 from 6 - 8 p.m. at Wheeler & Woodlief Funeral Home.
