ROCKY MOUNT - Dianne Garrett, born September 29, 1949, passed away January 23, 2019. She was preceded in death by her parents, Leroy and Josephine Atkins; two brothers, Robert Lee Battle (Dorothy) and Leroy Atkins Jr. ; two sisters, Dorothy Hicks (Marvin) and Almeta Lancaster; grandson, Damien Batts.
She is survived by her five children, Cynthia "Cymp" Staton, of Gwynn Oak, MD, Bobby "June" Henderson, of Sharpsburg, Ronald "Shawn" Henderson (Vileaser), of Nashville, Dominique "Nikki" Parker (Dennis), of Nashville, Jessica Page Jones (Quintin), of Rocky Mount; two God children, Derrick Terry (Shelli), of Rocky Mount and Kirk Davis, of Atlanta, GA; sister; Virginia Burston, of Owings Mills, MD; brother; Clyde Hopkins (Winsome), of Randallstown, MD; sister in- law; Brenda Atkins, of Rocky Mount; brother-in-law; Jimmie Lee Lancaster, of Rocky Mount; lifelong sister Francesca "Letrice" Hopkins, of Randallstown, MD; 12 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Visitation will be held February 1, 2019 from 5-7 p.m. at H.D. Pope Funeral Home, 325 Nash Street, Rocky Mount. Services will be held February 2 at 12 noon at Abundant Life Ministries, 500 Peachtree Street, Rocky Mount. Interment will follow at 1:30 p.m. at Gardens of Gethsemane Cementery, Rocky Mount.
