ROCKY MOUNT -- Henry Mitchell, born September 12, 1950 to Bessie Mitchell and the late Winfield Mitchell of Enfield, passed away March 14, 2019. He was preceeded in death, one brother Ivory Mitchell.
He is survived by his mother Bessie Holiday Mitchell of Enfield; his wife Phyllis Mitchell of the home, Rocky Mount; one son, Frederick Mitchell (Tiffany) of Danville,VA; one daughter, La Brecka Mitchell McCray (Tony) of Greensboro; one stepson, Travarous Harris (Nyleve) of San Diego, CA; one step daughter Corswella Whitaker of Atlanta, GA; six grandchildren; one brother Reverend Macarthur Mitchell (Zoe); two sisters; Geraldine Pettis, Elaine Hood, both of Richmond VA, two aunts; mother-in-law, Gertie Council of Rocky Mount; brothers-in-law Paul Allen (Debra) of Rocky Mount, Melvin Allen of Roxboro; sister-in-law, Georgetta Laurence (Michael); several nieces, nephews, cousins.
Funeral services were held March 19 at Morning Star Church of Christ in Rocky Mount. Arrangements by H.D. Pope Funeral Home, Rocky Mount.
