Leroy Glenn Hayes, Sr., 81, passed away on Saturday, June 22, 2019. Born in Wilson County on March 6, 1938, he was the son of the late Roy Lee Hayes and Rosa Lee Boyette Hayes. He was also preceded in death by his son, Lawerence Eugene Hayes; sisters, Bettie Jean Hayes Wiggins and Shirley Anne Hayes Whitely.
Survivors include his wife of 41 years, Elizabeth Marie Parks Hayes; sons, Randy Allen Hayes of Fayetteville, Leroy Glenn Hayes, Jr. of Fayetteville, and Leroy Wayne Hayes of Rocky Mount; and daughter, Kim Reed and husband, Wilbert, of Fayetteville. He is also survived by four grandchildren; brother, Ralph E. Hayes of Smithfield; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A Funeral Service was held on Wednesday, June 26, 2019 at 11 a.m. in the Chapel of Wheeler & Woodlief Funeral Home & Cremation Services with Pastor Royce Williams officiating. Burial followed the service at Rocky Mount Memorial Park.
