Treadwell “Ted” McClain Sills
NASHVILLE – Treadwell “Ted” McClain Sills, passed away Monday, September 22, 2008. He was born in Nash County to the late Mack and Sudie Sykes Sills. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Bobby Sills; sons, Sandy, David, Donald, and Ronald Sills.

Ted was the founder of Sills Tile Company and installed tile in and around the area for more than 54 years. Ted enjoyed spending time with his family and gardening. He was happiest on his tractor planting vegetables for his family and friends to enjoy.

He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Rosetta Parker Sills; daughters, Vicki Sills Harrell and husband, Randy; Robin Sills Batten and husband Bobby; son Timothy Sills and wife Emily; six grandchildren and one great-grandchild; two brothers, Earl and Carl Sills; and numerous nieces and nephews; and last but not least, his loving dog, Smut.

The family will receive friends from 7:00 - 8:30 p.m. Thursday, September 25, 2008 at Wheeler & Woodlief Funeral Home and other times at the home. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, September 26, 2008 at the funeral home with Rev. Reuben Batchelor and Rev. Bill Rouse officiating. Interment will follow at Forest Hill Cemetery in Nashville.
