JOHN IVAN BAKER
LOUISBURG - John Ivan Baker, 71, passed away on Sunday, October 5, 2008 at his home after a brief illness. He was born January 10, 1937 in Nash County. He was the son of the late William Neat and Nellie Jordon Baker.

He is survived by his wife Carol Ann Baker of Louisburg; two daughters, Sandra B. Rose of Rocky Mount and Teresa B. Varnell of Castalia; four step children; one brother, William Melvin Baker of Arlington, TX and eight grandchildren. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 10 to 11 am Wednesday, October 8, 2008 at Rocky Mount Memorial Park with a funeral service following at 11 am in the Chapel with Rev. Julian Thompson officiating. Burial will be at Rocky Mount Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, the family request donations are made to the American Cancer Society, 8300 Health Park, Suite 10, Raleigh, NC 27615.

Arrangements are entrusted to Johnson Funeral and Cremations, 661 English Road, Rocky Mount, NC 27856.
