ROCKY MOUNT - Della Cobb Thorpe, 88, wife of the late Benton Thorpe passed away on Wednesday, October 1, 2008. She was born November 4, 1919 in Wilson County. Her father was Charles Clifton Cobb and her mother was Lula Evans Cobb.
She is survived by her son, James P. Peele and wife Mary; four grandchildren; six great grandchildren; four brothers, Eddie, Roy, Johnny and Charles Cobb; sisters, Nettie, Ruby Lee, Bertha, Lula Mae and Inez.
The family received friends from 7:00 to 9:00 pm Thursday, October 2, 2008 at Johnson Funerals and Cremations on English Road. A graveside service was held at 11:00 am on Friday, October 3, 2008 at Rocky Mount Memorial Park with Brother Robert Durham officiating.
